
A Leitchfield man has been charged with strangling and assaulting a female victim, as well as being in possession of drugs..
A Grayson County Grand Jury indicted Charles A. Clemons, 44, for first-degree strangulation (domestic violence), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), intimidating a witness in the legal process, and tampering with physical evidence.
According to the indictment, Clemons committed the offenses on December 20, 2025.
He faces a separate indictment charging him with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). That offense, the indictment states, occurred on November 27, 2025.
Following his indictment on Monday, Clemons was arrested on Tuesday evening on Bloomington Road by Grayson County Deputy Caleb Fisher. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on, according to the indictments, two bonds totaling $50,000 cash bond.
