
Three women have perished in a residential fire in Leslie County.
The fire occurred Friday night at approximately 10:50 at a home on Hwy 421 in Hyden.
After the fire was extinguished, a search of the residence revealed the remains of three victims: 56-year-old Lisa Marcum, 50-year-old Jadeana Begley and 84-year-old June Nantz, all of Hyden, according to Kentucky State Police.
A teenage girl was transported to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.
Kentucky State Police detectives responded and initiated an investigation that remains ongoing.
“At this time, foul play is not suspected,” state police said in a press release.
The remains were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for autopsies.
