A juvenile has been arrested after allegedly killing a woman and her 12-year-old son in Allen County.
The shooting took place just before 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at 334 Stamps Road, approximately eight miles north of Scottsville off Smiths Grove Road (Hwy 101).
“As the investigation evolved, it was learned that a 12-year-old male and an adult female, identified as 42-year-old Traci Trasky, were found deceased at the residence,” Kentucky State Police said in a press release.
Further investigation showed that Trasky’s vehicle was missing from the residence. A short time later, though, her vehicle was found abandoned on Pleasant Field Church Road in southeast Allen County, about 20 miles from where the murders took place.
A drone was employed in the area where the vehicle was found, and “a subject was observed … running through a wooded area,” state police said.
Following a short foot pursuit, a 17-year-old male was taken into custody.
The teenager was later arrested and charged with two counts of murder, tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking (automobile), and fleeing or evading police (on foot).
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office and Scottsville Police Department assisted Kentucky State Police in the ongoing investigation.
WNKY.com confirmed with Kentucky State Police that the victims are mother and son.
