Suspect accused of shooting, killing teenager at Daviess Co. field party arrested in northern Ky.

The man accused of fatally shooting a teenager early Saturday morning at a Daviess County field party has been arrested.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said 20-year-old James S. Carr, of Crestwood, was arrested on Monday in Boone County. He was lodged in the Boone County Detention Center before being transferred to the Daviess County Detention Center where he’s being held on a $1 million cash bond.

Carr, who is accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Brody Lanham, has been charged with murder, second-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence charges.

A juvenile Carr is also accused of shooting was released from Owensboro Health Regional Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

A second suspect, 19-year-old Ayden L. Farrow, of La Grange, was arrested during a traffic stop in Oldham County on Saturday. He was returned to Owensboro and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center where he was charged with hindering prosecution or apprehension and tampering with physical evidence. Farrow is being held on a $250,000 cash bond.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded Saturday morning at approximately 1:00 to near the intersection of Hwy 144 and St. Lawrence Road in Knottsville in eastern Daviess County.

“Initial reports indicate that there was an altercation at a field party and that an unknown subject began firing a handgun striking multiple people,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post prior to the suspects being identified.

The investigation led police to track Carr and Farrow from Knottsville to La Grange, in Oldham County.

Law enforcement in Oldham County “quickly located the suspects’ vehicle parked and unoccupied in a La Grange neighborhood at about 8:00 a.m. Saturday,” the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities then obtained search warrants for “residences” as well as for the suspect’s vehicle.

“The ensuing searches revealed several vital pieces of evidence that tie the suspects to the shooting,” according to the sheriff’s office.
