
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for shooting and killing his brother in Carroll County.
The shooting occurred Thursday night at approximately 8:30 at a residence on New Castle Pike in Carrolton, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found 32-year-old Stephan Burgin suffering from a single gunshot wound.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation, according to police, showed that Burgin had been shot by his brother, 25-year-old Jessie J. Burgin. He was arrested on Friday morning and charged with murder (domestic violence), theft of a firearm, fleeing or evading police (on foot), and tampering with physical evidence.
The suspect was lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
