A man has been killed after colliding with the back of a garbage truck.
Kentucky State Police said troopers responded to the crash on Wednesday morning at approximately 7:00 at the intersection of Louisville Road (Hwy 127) and Kirkwood Road in Mercer County.
The state police investigation indicated that a Rumpke garbage truck, being driven by 35-year-old Jeremy Caudill, 35, of Hustonville, was stopped in the northbound lane of Louisville Road collecting trash at a residence when it was struck in the rear by a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by 44-year-old Jason McCarty, of Harrodsburg.
McCarty was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Mercer County Coroner’s Office. Caudill was not injured.
