Storm assessors were in Grayson County on Monday evaluating widespread damage inflicted by a severe thunderstorm that wreaked havoc in the county late Sunday night.
The National Weather Service, Grayson County Emergency Management and Kentucky Emergency Management officials split up into teams due to the extensive damage spread over a wide area to large trees, structures and power lines.
Residents with damage to a private residence, business or church are encouraged to contact Grayson County Emergency Management at graysonemergency@gmail.com, and include photos and a description of the damage.
At the height of power outages, there were approximately 5,000 customers without electricity. As of Monday night at 8:10, just over 200 customers remained without power.
