A juvenile was killed when a driver swerved to miss a deer and collided with an SUV.
Troopers responded to the accident Wednesday morning, March 6 at 5:00 near the intersection of Scottsville Road and Austin Tracy Road in Barren County between Glasgow and Scottsville.
Kentucky State Police said the investigation showed that a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, being driven by 37-year-old Jamie Morgan, of Scottsville, was traveling south on Scottsville Road when a deer entered the roadway.
In an evasive action to avoid the deer, Morgan’s vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Blazer, being driven by 35-year-old John Furlong, of Glasgow.
On Tuesday, a male juvenile passenger in Morgan’s vehicle succumbed to his injuries at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Grant Robertson.
