
Two people have died in a residential fire in Clinton County.
The blaze occurred on Wednesday morning at approximately 6:35 at 1175 Koger Mountain Road, about 10 miles west of Albany.
Upon firefighters arriving on the scene, they discovered two deceased individuals in the rear bedroom of the residence. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.
“Their identities are currently unknown and are being listed as Jane Doe and John Doe pending identification,” according to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
An investigation was initiated by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office. The Kentucky State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested to assist in determining the cause of the fire.
Foul play is not suspected. The deceased have been transported to the state forensic pathologist for further examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
