An Owensboro Fire Department vehicle caught fire on I-165.
The incident happened Friday morning when an Owensboro FD vehicle caught fire near the Ohio/Daviess County line.
“This incident did not involve any other vehicles and there were no injuries,” OFD said in a social media post.
The truck, the department said, suffered significant damage and will need to be replaced.
“If you ever smell or see smoke while operating your vehicle, please act quickly to safely get out of the path of traffic, get everyone out of the vehicle, and contact emergency services,” OFD said.
The department further thanked the Daviess County Fire Department and other first responders “who responded to make sure our personnel were safe before extinguishing the fire.”
