A Muhlenberg County man has been jailed after shooting a man from Todd County

The shooting occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 7:00 when Kentucky State Police responded to a man with a firearm making threats on Beech Creek Road in Beech Creek, about three miles south of Drakesboro.

State police said the investigation showed that 62-year-old Harvey Lear, of Nortonville, “is suspected of shooting a man from Todd County.”

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

Lear was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence, and false report of an incident resulting in an emergency response.

Lear was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Leevi McMillin.
