18-year-old arrested following police pursuit that ends in Irvington

A teenager is facing DUI and fleeing police charges after a pursuit ended near Irvington.

The incident began on Tuesday morning at approximately 9:30 in Meade County when deputies noticed a vehicle traveling between 80 and 90 miles per hour on Hayesville Road (Hwy 2727) near Ekron, according to WXBC.com.

The pursuit entered Breckinridge County, where Breckinridge County deputies and Irvington officers joined the chase. The pursuit ended on Norton Road in Irvington.

The driver, 18-year-old Connur T. Kerns, of Brandenburg, was arrested and charged with DUI (aggravating circumstances), felony wanton endangerment of a police officer, felony wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), and speeding 26 mph over the limit along with non-moving violations.

He was lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
