The Grayson County Healthcare Foundation (GCHF) has awarded a $500,000 grant to Grayson County Fiscal Court to support the construction of a new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) facility.
This major investment reflects GCHF’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare and strengthening essential emergency services across the county.
Located at 345 Grayson Springs Road in Leitchfield, the facility will span 9,460 square feet and be capable of housing up to six ambulances. It will include a dedicated storm shelter to protect EMS staff during severe weather events.
Additional funding from the Central Kentucky Community Foundation will allow a Safe Haven Baby Box to be installed, providing a secure, anonymous and compassionate option for parents in crisis to safely surrender their newborn.
“This grant represents our dedication to the health and safety of Grayson County,” said Brittany Clemons, Executive Director of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation. “A modern EMS facility will elevate the standard of emergency care within our community.”
With this grant, the foundation is helping ensure faster response times and a safer, more efficient environment for EMS personnel and the residents they serve.
County officials expressed deep gratitude for GCHF’s support in improving local healthcare infrastructure.
“This project would not be possible without the generosity of the Grayson County Healthcare Foundation,” Grayson Co. Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson said. “The foundation’s investment ensures our EMS team is equipped to meet the needs of our community.”
GCHF’s contribution aligns with its ongoing mission to fund initiatives that improve healthcare access and promote better health outcomes throughout Grayson County.
Construction of the new EMS facility has already started, as officials anticipate the building will be completed this summer.
The GCHF/GCHD partnership is intended to strengthen the community’s health and expand essential services to local residents.
