Grayson County High School’s Jack Logsdon and Breigh Jones have added to their postseason honors, as both were named All-State selections by the Louisville Courier-Journal.
The recognition comes after both players were also honored by the Lexington Herald-Leader.
Logsdon led the Cougars in scoring this season, averaging 19.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He also became the school’s all-time leading scorer, passing his head coach, Travis Johnston, for the boys’ record before later surpassing Brittany Bird for the overall school record.
A year ago, Logsdon was named an Honorable Mention All-State selection, becoming the first Cougar to earn All-State recognition since Johnston in 2010. The Western Kentucky commit will now turn his attention toward building on a strong junior season that saw Grayson County advance to the state semifinals for the first time in school history.
Jones led the Lady Cougars in scoring this season, averaging 17.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She reached a major milestone early in the year, scoring her 1,000th career point in a season-opening win over Hancock County.
A knee injury later cut her season short, forcing her to miss the final seven games. She has begun the rehab process and hopes to be ready for the season opener in December.
The two squads will begin summer basketball in early June before opening the new season in December.
