A passenger was killed when a vehicle slammed into a building in Carroll County in a DUI crash.
Kentucky State Police said the wreck occurred in Carrollton on Wednesday when a 2014 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 33-year-old Luis A. Orduno, of Mexico, left West Jay Louden Road and slid sideways into a nearby building.
His passenger, 31-year-old Luis F Mayoral Moguel, of Glencoe (Gallatin Co.), was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office.
Orduno was transported to University of Louisville Hospital where he was treated and released. He was then lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center where he’s charged with vehicular homicide, DUI and first-degree criminal mischief along with non-moving violations.
This crash remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
