Sharon Lynn Cockrel, age 73, passed away on April 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
Lynn will be remembered for her sharp mind, remarkable memory, and her focus on others. Her strength, independence, and resilience defined her life and the steady presence she brought to those closest to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Cockrel (1999). Lynn is survived by her son, Darren, and her sister, Robbie Brown.
A member of the class of 1970, Lynn was a faithful “Purple Flash” who enjoyed staying connected with her classmates and helping organize reunions. She never missed a reunion until her passing and will be missed by many.
She will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery.
A celebration of life will take place at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield, KY on Saturday (May 02 2026), from Noon until 3:00 PM.
