All 19 participating GCHS DECA students advance from regional to state competition

Grayson County High School DECA wrapped up regional competition with all 19 chapter members who competed awarded for their exemplary performances.

These students will all advance to state DECA competition on March 4 through 6 in Louisville.

Team or project-based finishes included:

  • First Place: Ethan Hayse and Evan Hayse, Community Service; Haley Dockery and Kaylee Embry, Learn and Earn; Chase Minton, Katie Mullins, and Laura Higdon, Creative Marketing; Eli Helm, Emma Finch, and Kenzie Skaggs, Financial Literacy Promotion.
  • Second Place: Haley Risinger and Shanna McClung, Community Service; Dylan Geary, Public Relations.

Team Case Study/Role Play

  • Alexis Brown and Alyssa Horn took third place in Travel and Tourism.
  • Individual Case Study awards were handed out to first place finishers Hannah Baxter, Principles of Finance; Maggie Clark, Principles of Business Administration; fourth place finisher Chase Blain, Principles of Hospitality; and sixth place, Sadie Stone, Hospitality and Tourism.
