LifeSkills Academy is designed to empower adults with special needs by teaching essential life skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. Open to special needs adults age 16+ with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their caregivers, the goal of each class is to help individuals gain confidence through skill building and to create an environment where their caregivers can connect with one another.
This October class will be focused on introductions and helping participants navigate getting to know each other, teaching introductory social skills in the process. The November class will be organized around table etiquette and basic table setting, and the December class will bake Christmas cookies and write greeting cards for family and charitable organizations.
