Grayson Springs DAR is privileged to pay tribute to Vietnam veterans by laying a wreath at the American Legion Veterans Memorial Park on Sunday, March 29th at 2 PM. National Vietnam War Veterans Day in the United States is celebrated annually on March 29th, a day that marked the departure of the last American troops from Vietnam in 1973 and is a day to reflect and remember the sacrifices of the Vietnam generation. It is a day to commemorate the service of all the men and women who served in the U. S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. Since many of these veterans were denied a proper “Welcome Home” it is our honor and privilege to do so now by having a ceremony and wreath laying. We have also recognized their service by placing a bench, at their request, for quiet reflection. Additionally, there is a plaque dedicated to their service. Please tell the veterans you know and invite them to the ceremony. It is our hope that the community will come out and help us show our respect and admiration to these heroes.
