Home-based microprocessors are farmers who grow and harvest produce to use in their value-added products. Home-based microprocessors are required to grow a predominant ingredient in the products they make. The first step to becoming certified as a home-based microprocessor is to attend a virtual Home-Based Microprocessor (HBM) workshop presented by the University of Kentucky. There is a $50 fee to attend. Registration is required online at https://grayson.mgcafe.uky.edu/events/virtual-home-based-microprocessing-workshop or by calling the Extension Office at (270) 259-3492.
