Kennith Ray Smiley Sr., age 63, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Friday, (May 11, 2018) at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1954 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Isaiah Dee and Virginia Mattingly Smiley.
He worked as a machine operator for Gates Rubber Company for 31 years and enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, farming and gardening. He was a member of God’s Mission Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dorothy McDaniel Smiley; a daughter, Francis Jones (Frank) of Leitchfield; a son, Kennith Smiley Jr. (Casey) of McDaniels, KY; eight grandchildren, Sean England, Travis England, Madison Lacefield, Regina Smiley, Candace Smiley, Kevin Smiley, Preston VanMeter and Elizabeth Smiley; and two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Vincent and Zaylee Neal.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Harold Dee Smiley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, (May 15, 2018) at the Calvert Community Church (1443 Calvert Church Rd., Leitchfield, KY 42754). Bro. Kennith Smiley Jr and Bro. Billy Mason will be officiating. Burial will be in the Calvert Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until Noon, at which time we will move to the church for services.
