The newspaper serving Fort Knox will end publication later this month, as the news provider goes digital.

The Gold Standard, formerly Inside the Turret and later, Turrett, announced on Thursday that after 70 years of operation the newspaper will cease publication on September 27.

In a statement in the newspaper, the Public Affairs Office said it “aims to build upon that legacy of excellence as we evolve with the Information Age in how we deliver timely, meaningful and effective command information content to our audiences.”

Locally produced news coverage, including columns and news stories, will be available at www.army.mil/knox, according to a statement in The Gold Standard. Items published on the site will be shared on Fort Knox’s homepage (www.knox.army.mil), Facebook (www.facebook.com/FortKnoxKY), Twitter (www.twitter.com/FortKnoxKY) and Flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/fortknoxky) platforms.
