Elizabethtown man charged with raping woman who took out EPO against suspect

A Hardin County man has been indicted for raping a woman who had taken out an emergency protective order (EPO) on the suspect.

Joseph Montgomery, 45, of Elizabethtown, is accused of entering the victim’s home in March and refusing to leave. When the victim attempted to leave the residence, Montgomery brought her back into the home and raped her, according to the report by the News-Enterprise.

He was indicted on multiple charges including, first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, and violating an EPO.

He is lodged at the Hardin County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
