Mary E. Hardin, 89, of Sunny Point passed away at 9:10 PM Sunday Oct. 13, 2019 at Edmonson Center.
The Allen County native was a retired Edmonson County Schools elementary teacher and a member of Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Howell and Clara Kirby Howell and the wife of the late James Robert Hardin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Sunny Point General Baptist Church, where she was a member and Sunday School teacher, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Wednesday at the church.
Surviving are four daughters, Anita Faye Brooks (Reuben) of Brownsville, Rita Ann Orr (Tom) of Columbia SC, Linda Gail Courtney of Elgin, SC and Marcia Elise Knoch of Nashville; two sons, James H. Hardin (Freda) of Sunny Point and Robert Lewis Hardin of Nashville. twelve grandchildren, Melissa McDonald (Josh), Jeremy Hardin (Jennifer), Shawn Brooks (Shanda), Derek Hardin, Erica Courtney, Brad Courtney, Christopher Orr, Eric Orr (Jennifer), Sammi Jo Howell, Lexi Knoch, Ethan Knoch, and Andrew Hardin; 16 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
