An Ohio County man has been arrested on drug trafficking charges after fleeing police.

On Monday afternoon, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office attempted to execute a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 69 and Narrows Road in Dundee. Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said when the vehicle stopped, a passenger, 32-year-old Nathan C. Evans, of Dundee, jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

He was quickly caught in a nearby field and had to be physically restrained by police, Beatty said.

During a search of Evans, deputies located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center where he’s been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police (on foot), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also served with a warrant out of Daviess County.
