31 new COVID cases in Grayson Co. since Wednesday, 163 active cases

The Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) has released a coronavirus update.

GCHD Director Josh Embry said Friday that 31 new cases of the virus have been confirmed since the last update on Wednesday. The new cases increase the county’s COVID-19 victim count to 1,648 (about one case per 16.4 Grayson Co. residents).

Over the last five days, 107 new cases of the virus have been confirmed, an average of 21.4 per day, and over the last 18 days, 293 cases have been diagnosed, an average of 16.3 per day.

No new deaths were reported, leaving the county’s COVID-19 death toll at 45.

Officials said there are 163 active cases in the county, an increase of eight people since Wednesday.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,440 (87.4 percent) Grayson County residents have recovered from the virus.
