A couple has been arrested at the Pilot Travel Center in Sonora after two small children were left unattended as the couple did drugs.

Tuesday night, Kentucky State Police arrested 38-year-old Christi D. Fryer and 37-year-old Migel A. Muneton, both of Madison, Tennessee, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.

The newspaper reports that the arrest citations say while Muneton was pumping gas at around 10:00 Tuesday night, Fryer was inside the travel center with two children, ages five and eight. Fryer then entered the restroom for about 15 minutes, leaving the children alone. When she returned, she had “slurred speech and dilated pupils.”

Employees of the travel center delayed the couple leaving as troopers were en route. When police arrived, they found Muneton passed out in the front seat of a Honda Odyssey as the children ran around the parking lot.

During a search of Fryer, troopers found Xanax and drug paraphernalia.

When Muneton was arrested, he “passed out in my backseat twice and asked me the same question five times,” a trooper wrote on the citation, the newspaper reports.

The children were turned over to Child Protective Services.

Fryer was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance (Xanax), having a prescription controlled substance not in its proper container, disorderly conduct, harassment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication (excludes alcohol).

Muneton was charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a forged instrument, identity theft, public intoxication (excludes alcohol), first-degree forgery, driving on a suspended/revoked license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center but are no longer listed as inmates.
