Kentucky State Police arrested a Taylor County man after a five-hour standoff in LaRue County.

Sunday night at approximately 7:00, troopers were conducting an investigation which led to a residence on College Street, in Buffalo, about six miles southeast of Hodgenville.

As a trooper attempted to make contact with a man inside the home, 42-year-old James A. Deslongchamps, of Campbellsville, he made verbal threats toward the trooper’s life, police said.

After the arrival of other troopers, along with other law enforcement, troopers made several requests for Deslongchamps to exit the residence unarmed. The suspect refused, with the KSP Special Response Team summoned to the scene.

After further negotiations, Deslongchamps left the home at approximately 12:30 Monday morning.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree terroristic threatening, menacing and resisting arrest and lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center.en
