Body found in wooded area in Hardin Co.

A body has been found in Hardin County.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Radcliff Police Department and Kentucky State Police responded to a wooded area off Homestead Avenue, near Rineyville Road (Hwy 361), after a couple found a decomposing body near a creek bed, The News Enterprise reports. A backpack was found nearby.

The body, police said, is that of a male. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Hardin County Sheriff John Ward told the newspaper that investigators believe they have identified the body but officials are not ready to release the name of the decedent.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is leading the death investigation.
