Friday night at 6:25, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to 3605 Brandenburg Road on the report of a two-vehicle accident.
Upon arriving on the scene, Sheriff Norman Chaffins found that a Nissan Frontier pickup truck and Ford Ranger collided as the Ranger was backing out of a driveway.
According to witness accounts, the Ranger, being driven by Wendy Lacefield, of Leitchfield, had stopped as it was backing out of the driveway to allow two vehicles to pass. When the Ranger continued to back out, the Frontier, traveling south on the straight stretch, struck the Ford on the passenger side door, flipping the Ranger onto its side and pushing it about 30 feet in the roadway.
The unidentified driver of the Frontier was transported by EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital, while Lacefield refused medical treatment.
