Stay Fit All While Sitting at Your Desk:

After a long stretch of sitting at your desk and focusing on work tasks, it is good to get your blood pumping with some exercises that you can do right in your chair. If you are looking to get more fitness into your day, check out these “deskercises” below:

  • Tap your toes on the floor as quickly as you can in minute increments.
  • Take a stationary jog by getting out of your chair and taking brisk lap in front of your computer.
  • Get up and take a lap around the building. A good way to get in some steps and become more friendly with your coworkers!
  • Raise your arms over your head and then down in a rotating motion as if you were lifting weights.
  • Straighten each leg out and hold for at least five seconds.

Keep Your House Cool Without Breaking the Bank This Summer:

Electricity bills can reach outrageous rates in the Summertime due to the extreme temps that the area faces. This leads to frequent visits to the thermostat begging for a cool-down, but rather than constantly decreasing the temperature, try out these cooling techniques:

  • Close the drapes during the day to block sun rays from entering your home.
  • Turn the air off and open the windows in the evening to allow cool fresh air in.
  • Make sure all ceiling fans spin in the direction that pushes heat down.
  • Refrain from using your washer and dryer during the hottest part of the day.

Helpful Tips About Sunscreen to Keep You Protected this Summer

According to the American Cancer Society, there are a few essential things to remember when shopping for sunscreen to ensure you receive the best care. Check out the list below:

  • Choose a sunscreen with broad spectrum protection.
  • Use 30 SPF or higher for the best coverage.
  • Keep in mind that water resistant does not mean water proof and will still require reapplication.
  • Sunscreens with less 15 SPF or less must wear a label informing users that is will protect against sunburn by not skin cancer.

Buffalo Chicken Calzone Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of skinless boneless chicken breast halved
  • 2 tbsps of butter
  • 1/4 cup of buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 can of refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 tbsps of vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 410 degrees F (210 degrees C). Grease a pizza pan.
  2. Place chicken into a large pot and cover with salted water; bring to a boil. Cook the chicken breasts until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, about 15 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). Transfer chicken to a bowl and shred with two forks.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir chicken and Buffalo wing sauce in the hot butter until chicken is coated and heated through, 2 to 4 minutes.
  4. Turn pizza dough out onto a generously floured surface. Roll dough into a 12-inch round. Brush dough with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil and spread 1 cup mozzarella cheese in the center of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Spread chicken mixture over cheese; top chicken mixture with remaining 1 cup cheese.
  5. Fold pizza dough in half and pinch edges together to seal. Transfer calzone to prepared pizza pan and brush top with remaining 1 tablespoon oil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until crust is golden brown, 17 to 20 minutes.
