Police arrest truck driver traveling with missing Michigan girl

Monday night at approximately 7:00, Kentucky State Police was notified by Michigan authorities that a missing female juvenile from Michigan could be in Kentucky, traveling in a semi-truck.

State police located the semi near the 35 mile marker of southbound I-75, in Laurel County, and initiated a traffic stop. The missing girl was located inside the semi-truck, unharmed.

The truck driver, 57-year-old Robert Phillips, of Jackson, Michigan, was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center where he’s charged with unlawful transaction with a minor and possession of marijuana. He’s being held on a $25,000 bond.
