The Louisville man who shot and killed two people at a Kroger store in Jeffersontown on Wednesday afternoon has a lengthy criminal history including multiple charges of domestic violence, assault, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, and terroristic threatening.
Police have identified 51-year-old Gregory Alan Bush, of Louisville, as the assailant in the Kroger store shootings.
Bush entered the store at approximately 3:00 local time and shot and killed a man before exiting the building and shooting and killing a female in the parking lot.
He then exchanged gunfire with an armed citizen before fleeing the scene. He was captured a short distance from the site of the shootings.
According to court documents obtained by K105, since 2000, Bush has had at least three EPOs taken out against him; by his former wife, another female and an elderly man with the same last name, presumably Bush’s father. He was accused of domestic violence four times in 2000 and 2001.
In January 2009, Bush was arrested on three counts of domestic violence, two counts of intimidating a participant in the legal process and two counts of wanton endangerment. Again in 2009, Bush was arrested for assaulting a probation or police officer, domestic violence assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threatening, and two counts of intimidating a participant in the legal process.
In 2003, he was arrested on a menacing charge.
After his capture on Wednesday, Bush was charged with two counts of murder and 10 counts of wanton endangerment. The FBI is assisting the Jeffersontown Police Department in the investigation, as there are reports that the attacks may have been racially motivated.
WAVE3.com is reporting that both victims were black, and that witnesses heard Bush exclaim, “Whites don’t shoot whites,” at some point during the rampage.
Bush is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
