Leitchfield Utilities Commission receives 2018 audit report

The Leitchfield Utilities Commission received its 2018 audit report from Taylor, Polson & Company at Thursday night’s meeting.

Taylor, Polson & Company representative Jeff Carter told commissioners that after conducing the audit, the accounting firm gave the utility a “clean, unmodified opinion” (translation: no financial issues were found). Carter also said there were no “internal control issues,” and praised the utility for having separation of financial accounting duties among its employees.

The audit found that the utility has total assets of $28,520,429 and a total net position of $18,946,556.
