Kentucky State Police is investigating after a criminal complaint was filed against an eastern Kentucky deputy sheriff.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said it received notification from state police that a complaint out of Jackson County had been filed against Knox County deputy Claude Hudson. Hudson has been suspended, but no charges have yet been filed.

In a statement, Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith said, “We received notification on December 30 that a criminal complaint from Jackson County had been filed against Deputy Hudson. It is being investigated by Kentucky State Police. Hudson was immediately placed on suspension from duty and will remain that way until the outcome of this investigation.”

Details of the complaint have not been released.

Hudson was recently honored by the Kentucky Sheriff’s Association with the KSA Medal of Honor, along with Deputy Keith Liford, after the two were shot in June 2017 while serving an indictment warrant at a Knox County home, according to media reports.
