Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is recovering after falling at his Louisville home on Sunday.

David Popp, McConnell’s Communications Director, issued the following statement regarding the GOP senator:

“This morning, Leader McConnell tripped at home on his outside patio and suffered a fractured shoulder. He has been treated, released, and is working from home in Louisville.”

Popp said McConnell contacted Ohio Sen. John Cornyn and Texas Sen. Rob Portman to express his sympathies for the people of El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio and discuss the mass shootings that occurred over the weekend.

Popp said McConnell will continue to work at home as he recovers.
