A Clarkson man accused of assaulting his mother-in-law and wife in Edmonson County has been captured by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.

Sunday night at approximately 11:15, Grayson County Central Dispatch alerted law enforcement to be on the lookout for a blue Ford Ranger containing 38-year-old Emmanuel King, of Clarkson.

King was wanted by the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office after he was accused Sunday evening of assaulting his mother-in-law and forcing his wife into his truck. King then left the area with his wife and was thought to be traveling to Clarkson (the initial investigation showed that King did not abduct his wife, and he has not been charged with a crime related to an abduction).

As they searched for King, Deputies Mark Johnson and Jason Luedke strategically positioned themselves, with Leitchfield PD Sgt. Keith Harrell and Officer DJ Newton also on the lookout.

At approximately 12:15 Monday morning, about an hour after the alert was issued, Johnson found the truck, with King and the victim inside, in the driveway of a residence in the 200 block of Peonia Road, in Clarkson. Johnson took King into custody without incident and was soon assisted by Luedke.

Johnson then transported King to Smitty City where Edmonson County Deputy Matt Skaggs met Johnson and took custody of the suspect.

King faces no charges in Grayson County. He was charged in Edmonson County with two counts of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence, minor injury) and lodged in the Hart County Jail.
