Shirlen Kay Gibson, age 73, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (August 19, 2021) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
She was born on January 3, 1948 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of the late Murl and Delores Stinson Gibson.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed animals, especially horses and dogs and genealogy.
She is survived by her son, Larry Sims; 4 daughters, Mary Miller, Sheila Sims, Jana Downs and Judy Pruitt; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Dale, Doug, Jimmy, William and Vance Gibson; 2 sisters, Janetta Carroll and Donna Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 children, Sharon Miller and Murl Thomas Miller; 2 brothers, Chuck Gibson and Larry Gibson; and 2 sisters, Mary Cannon and Rebecca Smith.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, (August 22, 2021) at the Gibson Cemetery with burial in the cemetery.
