A Rocky Hill man arrested in May on drug charges has again been jailed after Edmonson County deputies located a significant amount of methamphetamine while serving a warrant.

Early Sunday morning, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office arrested 49-year-old Michael A. Vance and charged him with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Sheriff Tracy Beatty, deputies and Kentucky Fish & Wildlife officers arrived at a residence in the 18000 block of Louisville Road to serve a warrant. Movement was detected in a building located behind the house, Beatty said, with officers detecting the odor of marijuana coming from the building.

Upon making entry, police observed drug paraphernalia. Authorities obtained a search warrant for the property and during the search police discovered methamphetamine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

Vance was lodged in Hart County Jail.

In late May, Vance was accused of firing a gun while two women argued at a home, also in the 18000 block of Louisville Road.

Police searched the property and located methamphetamine, cash, several firearms, and numerous forms of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, deputies “located a white powdery substance, consistent with that of a controlled substance” in a child’s bedroom.

Vance was charged in that case with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
