The first two days for candidates to file papers with the Grayson County Clerk’s Office or online with Frankfort elections officials announcing their intention to run for office during the 2022 election cycle has resulted in five candidates filing papers.

K105 reported Thursday morning that former Leitchfield City Council member Harold Miller filed to run for mayor of Leitchfield. Miller is the only non-incumbent to file so far. Current Leitchfield Mayor Rick Embry told K105 that while he has not yet filed, he intends to run for reelection in the non-partisan race.

Also filing on Wednesday or Thursday were Grayson County Clerk Charlotte Willis, County Attorney Jeremy Logsdon, Jailer Jason Woolsey, Sheriff Norman Chaffins, and Leitchfield City Councilman Clayton Miller.

The deadline to file to run in the 2022 Primary Election is January 7, 2022.

The 2022 Primary Election is slated for May 17, with the General Election scheduled for November 8.
