The woman involved in a horrific single-vehicle crash on Bowling Green Road (Hwy 185) has been identified.

Caroline Meredith, of Grayson County, was ejected from a Ford Explorer when the vehicle flipped in the 6400 block of Bowling Green Road Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:15.

The Explorer, traveling north, left the roadway while coming out of an uphill curve. The Ford entered a large yard where it traveled for about 200 feet. As the SUV began to reenter the roadway it struck a six-foot embankment, flipping the vehicle at least once as it crossed both lanes of traffic before striking a fence.

Meredith was tossed from the vehicle as the Ford came to rest on its wheels.

Meredith, suffering from critical injuries, was airlifted from Caneyville Elementary School to University of Louisville Hospital.

According to family and friends’ social media posts, she has undergone multiple surgeries and remains in critical condition.

Grayson County Deputies Sean Fentress and Justin Cockerel, KSP Troopers Jared Clemons and Jacob Clemons, the Caneyville Fire Department worked the accident scene. EMS transported Meredith from the wreck scene to Caneyville Elementary School.
