As Grayson County wakes up Friday morning, be prepared for slow-as-you-go travel, as heavy snowfall has blanketed the ice-covered roadways in many parts of the county.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has placed the county under a Winter Weather Advisory until 9:00 Friday morning.

The NWS says, “An additional inch of snow is possible with ice accumulations of a light glaze,” as the snow will mix with sleet or periods of freezing drizzle through late morning.

Expect Friday morning travel to be hazardous, particularly on secondary roadways. The early morning precipitation has re-coated some of the more heavily used routes, creating dangerous driving conditions.

Expect a high temperature on Friday of 31 degrees, with the temperature dropping to the low teens during the overnight hours, likely again creating dangerous driving conditions Saturday morning.
