The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting another snow event for the region Friday night and into Saturday morning.

Grayson County will be under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at 6:00 Friday night. The advisory is in effect until Saturday morning at 9:00.

The temperature, according to the NWS, is anticipated to drop from the mid-50s during the afternoon hours on Friday to the low to mid-30s by 9:00 p.m., before falling into the low 20s during the early morning hours of Saturday.

Gusting winds nearing 30 miles per hour during the early morning hours of Saturday, though, will drop the wind chill to the mid-teens and possibly lower.

Rain is predicted to begin falling around 6:00 Friday night before transitioning to a snow/rain mixture, followed by a shift to all snow around 11:00 p.m.

Forecasters predict the area to receive one to two inches, with locally higher amounts possible. Locales east of Grayson County, particularly east of I-65, are expected to receive up to six inches of snow.

Plan on slippery road conditions Friday night and into Saturday morning, with travel considerably more difficult the farther east one travels in Kentucky.
