The identity of the woman found murdered in Hardin County last week has been released.

The body of 62-year-old Lana Rene Jantz, of Radcliff, was found Wednesday night at approximately 6:00 in a shed on her property in the 900 block of Oak Drive. Hardin County deputies had arrived at the home to conduct a welfare check

“We’ve decided this is a homicide,” Sheriff John Ward told The News-Enterprise on Thursday. “It’s under investigation and we’re actively working it. We’re still trying to gather all the details and determine exactly what happened.”

Jantz, police said, died of blunt force trauma, and according to the newspaper, drag marks could be seen from Jantz’s home to the shed on the back of her property.

The body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for an autopsy.
