Mildred Louise Mudd, age 85, of Caneyville, passed away on Saturday, (July 2, 2022) at her home. She was born on March 15, 1937 in Millwood, KY, the daughter of the late Ralph and Phymealie Mudd Woosley.
She was saved as a young girl at the age of 13. On April 17, 1954, she married Willard Mudd. They were blessed with 68 years together.
She faithfully attended church all her life, becoming a charter member of Wilson United Baptist Church in 1983. She could often be heard shouting the praises of the Lord. It was her never-ending testimony to be able to pray for “just one more.”
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her only brother, Paul Addison Woosley.
She is survived by her husband, Willard; four children, Gordon (Tosha), Susan (Noble) Miller, Vickie (Stanley) Wilson, all of Caneyville, and Mark of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Earlene Mudd, and two half-sisters, Linda Sue Cayton, and Carolyn Mercer.
Mildred loved gospel singing, often requesting her favorite song, Going Home. Though she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends, we all take comfort in knowing she now has Gone Home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (July 6, 2022) at the Wilson United Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday (July 5, 2022) at the Dermitt Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and at the Wilson United Baptist Church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
