A tractor-trailer has been struck by a train in Hardin County.
The collision occurred Saturday on Hwy 222 in Glendale, according to a report by The News-Enterprise. Hardin County Sheriff John Ward told the newspaper that “the truck became stuck at the railroad crossing because it was carrying a trailer that was dipped low.”
Realizing he was stuck, the truck driver notified Hardin County Dispatch of his predicament. The train’s conductor was alerted and attempted to stop the train, but was unable to before crashing into the truck.
Hwy 222 will likely be closed for the rest of this week while repairs are made.
No injuries were reported.
