Grayson County native Landon Young has made the initial New Orleans Saints 53-man opening day roster.

Young will be starting his second season in the NFL. Last season, he appeared in ten games while also making one start for the Saints.

He was a 6th-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft following a strong career as an offensive tackle at the University of Kentucky.

While in Lexington, the former Kentucky Wildcat was named All-SEC twice and was a key peg of an offensive line that was twice named a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award which is given to college football’s top line.

Young attended Lafayette High School in Lexington but has deep family roots throughout Grayson County and the Caneyville area.

He will be coached by a new offensive line coach as former NFL head coach Doug Marrone takes control of the line.

The New Orleans Saints will open the 2022 season on September 11 in Atlanta against the Falcons. They will also play a game in London in early October. Other highlights include playing both teams from last year’s Super Bowl the Bengals and Rams.
