An elderly Barren County woman has been killed in a two-vehicle accident.
Kentucky State Police on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 responded to the crash in the 7000 block of North Jackson Highway (Hwy 31-E), about five miles north of Glasgow.
The preliminary investigation, police said, indicated that 71-year-old Wanda W. Cross, of Cave City, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet passenger car south when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 1988 Toyota pickup, being driven by 78-year-old Joie Hunley, of Hiseville.
According to police, Cross was ejected from the Chevrolet and was later pronounced deceased by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
Police did not release if Hunley suffered injuries.
The ongoing investigation is being led by Trooper Michael Wathen.
