Law enforcement is searching for a western Kentucky teenager accused of murder.

The investigation began Thursday morning at approximately 3:30 when Kentucky State Police responded to 375 West Calhoun Street in Calhoun and found 20-year-old Steven G. Powell, of Calhoun, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Powell was transported to Owensboro Health where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police are now searching for the shooting suspect, 18-year-old William C. Arant, of Island (McLean Co.). He is wanted for murder and first-degree burglary. Arant should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Arant could be in the Owensboro area, according to state police.

Anyone with information on Arant’s location is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-826-3312 or your local law enforcement.
