A Bardstown High School teacher and coach has been arrested on sex abuse charges.

Bardstown police arrested 49-year-old Jeremy Dale on Monday and charged him with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse against one student, and harassment of another student.

He is accused, according to a report by WLKY.com, of subjecting “a juvenile at Bardstown High School to sexual contact on two occasions … and other female students within the same time period to harassment with physical contact.”

The longtime teacher and assistant football coach has been fired. He had worked for the school district since 1999.

The investigation began in early February when school officials requested Bardstown police investigate Dale’s alleged sexual misconduct.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Dale was lodged in the Nelson County Detention Center but was released after posting bond.
